Fellows and Early Practitioners

TCT 2010 is an excellent educational opportunity for those early in their medical career. The variety of sessions from live-case transmissions to smaller interactive sessions on innovative new treatments can expand horizons and help enhance burgeoning medical careers. With over 12,000 attendees last year, TCT 2010 is expected to draw talents across the board, providing a forum for networking and interacting with those early in their career to seasoned professionals who can offer guidance and indispensible knowledge.

The following sessions may be of particular interest to those early in their medical careers:

 

Win a scholarship to TCT 2010!

TCT can be cost prohibitive for those early in their medical career. Therefore, CRF is pleased to offer three scholarship programs supported through educational grants. Please read below for details.

Scholarships include:

  • TCT 2010 registration fee
  • Housing for five (5) nights at TCT 2010
  • Round trip coach air transportation to TCT 2010
  • Scholarship recipients will become TCT Faculty and present their case as a team at a breakfast meeting at TCT!

 

Impella Scholarship Program

Supported through an educational grant from Abiomed, Inc.

Submit a "most challenging case" where the Impella device was successfully used. Provide a brief description of patient history, clinical diagnosis, case decisions, and patient outcome. The top three cases will be selected for a scholarship to TCT!

IABP Scholarship Program

Supported through an educational grant from MAQUET Cardiovascular

Celebrate 43 years of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping (IABP) Therapy by sharing an interesting or unique clinical case of a patient who benefited from counterpulsation therapy for one of the following indications:

  • Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Cardiogenic Shock
  • Cardiac Support for Non-Cardiac Surgery
  • Prophylactic Support in Preparation for Cardiac Surgery

The top three case submissions will receive a scholarship to attend TCT and present their case at the meeting.

Collaborative Cardiac Care Scholarship

Supported through an educational grant from Medtronic CardioVascular

Submit a case in which a collaborative approach to treatment was taken. The cases must involve a partnership approach between an interventional cardiologist, a cardiovascular surgeon, a vascular surgeon or other specialty. Applicants must submit in teams of two and scholarships will be awarded to both members of the team. Three team scholarships will be awarded. This scholarship program is available for those enrolled in a fellowship program or early in their medical career (three years of practice or less).
